ECO UNESCO Young Environmentalist Awards
Yvonne Agnew, Manager of Provider QA Approvals in the Awards Directorate, was delighted to represent QQI at ECO UNESCO's Young Environmentalist Awards ceremony held at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre on Wednesday, 15th May.
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Awards, a programme which supports and encourages young people ranging in age from 10-18 years to participate in environmental action projects, 110 finalists gathered to display their work and showcase their achievements. Projects were received from 5,500 young participants representing 30 counties on the island of Ireland.
ECO UNESCO is a community/voluntary sector organisation who successfully reengaged with QQI in 2023 and an environmental education youth organisation that runs a variety of programmes and services focused on environmental protection and youth empowerment. Congratulations to ECO UNESCO and to all the participants and finalists for their inspiring and thought-provoking projects.
