What we do
QQI is the state agency responsible for promoting quality and accountability in education and training services in Ireland.
A QQI award lets prospective employers and educational institutions know a particular level of knowledge, skill and competence has been achieved in an area of study or training.
By promoting accountability, openness and transparency, quality assurance processes help ensure that the qualification awarded at the end of a programme is credible and trustworthy.
The qualifications used in Ireland's education and training system are described through the NFQ, a 10-level framework ranging from literacy qualifications through to doctoral degrees.
At QQI, we harness our expertise, data and international connections to help improve the quality of education and training throughout Ireland.
