Consultation now open: White Paper on Qualifications at NFQ Levels 5 and 6

QQI has launched a public consultation on a new White Paper proposing a single major award at NFQ Level 6, replacing the current Advanced and Higher Certificates. The paper also includes an updated outline of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ), reflecting recent policy and legislative changes.

This White Paper builds on the proposal outlined in the Green Paper on Intermediate Qualifications at NFQ Levels 5 and 6 published at the end of 2024.

We now invite a diverse range of stakeholders to have their say as we refine and finalise the policy approach. 

The consultation will close on Friday 7 November 2025.
