Taking Higher Education Quality Assurance Online

QQI recently presented on its experience of online quality assurance during the pandemic at webinars hosted by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). 

In April, alongside Dr Jeffrey Cox of Ireland’s National Student Engagement Programme (NStEP), QQI set out the joint efforts of both organisations to facilitate and enhance learner engagement in the CINNTE institutional review process during 2020/21. The presentation included details of a bespoke learner briefing developed by NStEP that was delivered to students meeting with review team members as part of the CINNTE review process; it also reflected on the feedback received from student participants as part of the surveys and focus groups conducted post-review and set out the enhancements planned on foot of this feedback.  You can watch this webinar back here.  

In May, QQI presented its reflections on the training provided to reviewers participating in QQI CINNTE review processes. 

Creating a Happy (Virtual) External Review Team aimed to identify considerations in training and working with a virtual external review team. It was based on an analysis of feedback received from virtual review teams, a short review of surveys on remote working, and principles of instructional design for online learning. You can watch this webinar back here.
