Analysis of results from the Generative Artificial Intelligence Survey 2025

This report and statistical analysis present the findings of a comprehensive survey conducted by QQI between December 2024 and February 2025, aimed at capturing the perspectives, usage, and responses of staff and learners in Irish further education, higher education, and English language education sectors regarding generative artificial intelligence (GenAI). The survey involved 1,229 staff and 1,005 learners, exploring their knowledge, attitudes, institutional support, and expectations about GenAI’s impact on education and the workplace.

This survey highlights the complexities and varied perspectives surrounding GenAI in education. It underscores the urgent need for clear policies, comprehensive training, and thoughtful integration of GenAI tools to ensure equitable benefits and uphold academic integrity while preparing learners for future workplaces.
