The National Academic Integrity Network launches its Strategy 2025-2028

13–10–2025

The National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN), supported by Quality and Qualifications Ireland, has officially launched its Strategy 2025–2028, setting a renewed direction for promoting academic integrity across further and higher education and training in Ireland.

Building on the network’s foundational work since its establishment in 2019, the new strategy outlines four core goals designed to empower educators, learners, and institutions to embed integrity as a central pillar of educational excellence. These goals focus on professional support, sectoral leadership, resource development, and national/international collaboration.

Speaking at the launch, Mary-Claire Kennedy, Chair of NAIN and Academic Integrity Lead at University of Limerick, said:

The NAIN Strategy 2025–2028 outlines refreshed strategic goals and objectives that reflect the changing landscape of further and higher education and training in Ireland. These goals build on the strong foundation of NAIN’s earlier work, are informed by the real-world experiences of educators, learners, and policymakers, and have been shaped through meaningful consultation with the network. The Strategy is anchored in four core goals, thoughtfully developed to reflect the diverse functions of the network. These include supporting members in their professional practice, offering leadership and guidance, creating and sharing valuable resources, and strengthening partnerships with national and international bodies.

The strategy also sets out a clear vision for the future: an education and training sector where academic integrity is deeply embedded in teaching, learning, and assessment practices. Implementation will be guided by dedicated working groups, annual progress reporting, and ongoing engagement with stakeholders across the sector.

NAIN invites all members of the academic community to engage with the strategy and contribute to its success. You can read the full strategy document below.
