Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) appoints Dr Mary-Claire Kennedy as chairperson of the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN)
QQI is pleased to announce that Dr Mary-Claire Kennedy (Academic Integrity Lead, University of Limerick) has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN). Her appointment was confirmed at the NAIN plenary meeting on 5 June, held at the University of Limerick (UL).
Mary-Claire succeeds Billy Kelly, formerly Deputy Registrar, Dean of Teaching and Learning, Dublin City University (DCU), who has provided exceptional leadership since NAIN’s establishment in 2019. We extend our sincere gratitude to Billy for his dedication, guidance, and contributions to the network's growth and success.
The meeting also marked a transition within the NAIN Steering Committee. We would like to acknowledge and thank Yvonne Kavanagh (Director of Engineering Research & Innovation, South East Technological University (SETU)), Bryan O’Mahony (President, AMLÉ), Iain MacLabhrainn (Director, Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT), University of Galway) and Aisling Reast (Head of Quality Enhancement Office, RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences) for their invaluable contributions during their tenure. Their expertise and commitment have played a vital role in advancing NAIN’s mission and objectives.
We welcome the newly appointed Steering Committee members, who will continue to drive NAIN’s efforts in promoting academic integrity across the tertiary sector.
