QQI publishes summaries of assessment-related projects
QQI has published a QQI Insights report bringing together summary reports from eight grant-aided projects examining assessment in the context of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).
The projects were funded following a call for proposals issued in 2022 to mark QQI’s 10th anniversary. The initiative sought to foster a growing community of practice in the area and the support the professional development of staff involved in assessment.
The publication presents summaries of projects exploring a broad range of themes including academic integrity, authentic assessment, external examining, interactive oral assessment, technology-enhanced simulation, Universal Design for Learning and assessment toolkits.
The eight projects featured are:
- Assessment identity, academic integrity and ethical practice
- ExPeRA: External Peer Review of Assessment
- Interactive oral assessment: a model for robust and authentic assessment design
- Measuring attitudes towards academic integrity in Irish Higher Education
- Prof-ASSESS: A programme-based approach to building authenticity into assessment and feedback processes through consultation with Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies
- To investigate the use of technology-enhanced simulation as an integrative authentic assessment approach on a blended learning professional programme
- Real Intelligent Assessment Toolkits Across NFQ Levels
- UDL-designed authentic assessment as a preventative measure of academic misconduct
Each summary outlines the project’s objectives, methodology, findings and implications. The publication also provides links to the individual project reports for readers who wish to examine the projects in greater detail.
