Expression of Interest – QQI Expert Evaluator Panels
Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) has opened an expression of interest process to recruit new sector experts to participate in upcoming evaluation processes.
QQI is the Irish state agency with responsibility for the promotion and monitoring of external quality assurance (QA) across Ireland’s tertiary education system. QQI also serves as an awarding body, validating programmes that lead to QQI awards and certifying learners who successfully complete those programmes.
To carry out work QQI engages panels of experts to evaluate applications for QA approval and programme validation. These evaluations ensure that providers have the capacity, resources, and robust and effective QA systems required to deliver programmes leading to QQI awards. QQI’s programme validation process further ensures that any new programme proposed by a provider has been fully evaluated and approved before it is offered to learners.
QQI is now recruiting experts to participate in upcoming QA and programme validation evaluation processes by seeking expressions of interest to be included in a pool of expert evaluators.

By expanding our pool of evaluators, we aim to maintain and enhance the quality and consistency of our evaluation activities. Depending on responses and capacity, QQI will invite a number of applicants to participate in training in autumn 2026.
Who should consider applying:
- Individuals who hold senior leadership roles within further or higher education providers
- Individuals who hold roles relating to the quality assurance of further or higher education and training
- Individuals who have engaged with the quality assurance and accreditation processes of other awarding bodies/regulators or education providers
- Individuals who have demonstrable experience of writing evidence-based reports
The deadline for submissions is Friday, 28th August 2026. Submission after this date will not be considered.
