EQAVET Annual Network Meeting, Warsaw 2025
The EQAVET Annual Network Meeting (ANM) 2025, held on 12-13 June in Warsaw, brought together 64 participants from 32 countries, including 25 EU Member States and 7 non-EU countries. The meeting provided a platform for representatives in charge of Quality Assurance in Vocational Education and Training (VET), National Reference Points, and staff members from the European Commission, European Training Foundation, and Cedefop to discuss the latest developments in VET/FET.
The host country, Poland, showcased its systemic measures for quality assurance in VET, emphasising the importance of vocational excellence. The meeting also featured interactive sessions, panel discussions, and presentations on various topics, including the Union of Skills, the Action Plan on Basic Skills, the STEM Education Strategic Plan, and Europass Mobility.
Laura McNamee and Orlaith O’Loughlin represented QQI at the meeting in Warsaw. Orlaith, Manager in Tertiary Education Monitoring and Reviews, presented on the importance of Learner Voice in quality assurance. The presentation highlighted the central role of the learner in the inaugural review of quality assurance in Ireland's Education and Training Boards (ETBs) and the recommendations made in relation to Learner Voice. Key messages from QQI’s QA enhancement webinar last April, Learner Voice in QA Governance, were also shared. The webinar aimed to highlight the progress made through the work of ETBs, AONTAS, SOLAS, as well as organisations outside of FET.
The EQAVET Secretariat provided updates on mutual learning and communication activities since the last ANM in 2024, and shared lessons learned from the first cycle of system-level peer reviews.
Overall, the EQAVET ANM 2025 was an excellent opportunity for networking, sharing best practices, and discussing future activities to enhance quality assurance in VET/FET. The ANM has been summarised in this flash report.
