Dr Lynn Ramsey appointed as new CEO of Quality and Qualifications Ireland
Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI) is pleased to announce that Dr Lynn Ramsey has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the agency and will take up her new post on 3 November 2025.
Dr Ramsey is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Teaching Council, having previously served as Director of MicroCreds at the Irish Universities Association. She was a director of the Higher Education Authority and Chair of the National Forum for Teaching and Learning. She holds a PhD in EU law from the University of Glasgow, a Master of Education in Leadership and Management from Trinity College Dublin and has held academic and leadership positions in universities in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Welcoming the appointment, James Lawless TD, Minister of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science said,
“Dr Ramsey has made a significant and widely recognised contribution to the Irish education system. Her dedication and service speak volumes, and I am delighted that QQI has secured such a high-calibre leader. With Dr Ramsey at the helm, I am confident the agency will deliver on its strategic priorities and continue to build a resilient, agile organisation.”
Following her appointment Dr Ramsey said,
“I look forward to working with the QQI Board, QQI colleagues and the sector as we build upon the progress made, to further strengthen public confidence and trust in the quality, integrity and reputation of Ireland’s tertiary education system.”
