Cinnte schedule extended to 2024/25

24–11–2023

QQI’s Cinnte review cycle will continue into 2024 to allow for the review of a further eight higher education institutions. Four technological universities (TUs) – Munster TU, TU of the Shannon, South East TU and Atlantic TU will undergo institutional review for the first time in 2024, following their establishment in 2021/22. The first TU to undergo review was TU Dublin who completed the process in 2022.

The Cinnte review cycle will also include, for the first time, the four independent and private institutions operating in the Irish HET sector. These are Dublin Business School, Griffith College, Hibernia College and National College of Ireland. Specific terms of reference and a review handbook for the external review of these institutions have been finalised and will be published shortly.

All of these reviews will be held on site where review teams comprising national and international experts in higher education governance and quality assurance as well as research, industry and third mission will meet with a wide range of students, staff and stakeholders in each institution. Each review team will also include a student representative.

The 2024/25 schedule for the reviews is now available on the QQI website and previous review reports are available in QQI’s Review Library.
