Successful and Meaningful Student Engagement- Planning for 2021-2022

25–05–2021

We asked stakeholders what they thought would be key to delivering a successful academic year. Their answer? Student engagement - how to create it, how to support it, and how to find out what others are doing to make it happen.

The seminar will be packed full of inspiration for QA practitioners planning for next semester and beyondA keynote from Dr Ailsa Crum, Director of Membership, Quality Enhancement & Standards, QAA (UK) will share approaches used in Scotland and the rest of the UK to engage students in quality and in their own learning, and we will also have contributions from USI, NStEP, StudentSurvey.ie, RCSI, IT Carlow, Chevron Training, and QQI.

For colleagues in QA and academic management roles across FE and HE, this is an essential seminar for planning the ways you and your organisation or institution can successfully engage your students in the coming academic year.

Join us as we explore the answers to questions like:

  • What student engagement practices did students think worked best over the past 14 months?

  • How did staff and students work together to create meaningful engagements?

  • How did QA practitioners create and support student engagement partnerships?

  • What will work in hybrid provision? What initiatives could your institution/ organisation effectively integrate in 2021-2022 and beyond?

Post-event we also be sharing a list of current student engagement resources from organisations and providers across the sector in Ireland and the UK.

If you have attended any of the seminars in this series, we would be delighted if you could take 2-3 minutes to complete this very brief survey. We would love to hear what you thought of the seminars so far and if you have any suggestions for future topics/areas to be featured.
