Deepening RPL practice across Europe: CEDEFOP Survey

29–04–2021

The European Commission and CEDEFOP are currently updating the European guidelines for validating non-formal and informal learning and want to hear of the Irish experience across all sectors.

The guidelines support policy makers and practitioners in developing and delivering the best conditions to serve individuals in their validation process. As noted in the evaluation of the 2012 Recommendation, they have played a significant role in promoting a shared understanding of validation in Europe, and in supporting peer learning.

The 2021 update aims to maintain the relevance and effectiveness of the guidelines, especially considering developments such as the digital and green transitions, and the impact of the COVID pandemic. Recognising all our people’s talent and potential can only aid our recovery, and the validation of non-formal and informal learning will play a key part in enabling this.

We encourage all stakeholders to share their opinions and experiences by contributing to the survey. We also hope you will share this consultation widely with partners and practitioners.

The survey will remain open until the end of June 2021.
