Academic integrity events for private independent HEIs

25–08–2022

QQI will be holding two events on academic integrity for private independent providers of higher education in September.

The first of these will be a virtual event, taking place over Microsoft Teams from 2-3pm on Monday, 12 September. The event will be aimed at registrars and quality officers and the focus will be on section 43A of the Qualifications and Quality Assurance Act 2012 (as amended), its implementation by QQI and QQI’s expectations of providers with regard to the management of academic integrity issues within their internal QA systems.

The second event will be a face-to-face event on Monday, 19 September from 10am to 2pm. This will be an opportunity for attendees to discuss with QQI and with peer providers a range of academic integrity issues (with a focus on contract cheating in particular, including recent developments in this area nationally and internationally), and to hear about the work of the National Academic Integrity Network, learn about the resources that it has produced and its plans for the coming academic year. The event will include a ‘workshop’ session, during which attendees will discuss academic integrity scenarios with other attendees, members of the NAIN and QQI staff.

Please note: these are closed events for private HEIs only. Queries regarding attendance may be directed to mboland@qqi.ie or shackett@qqi.ie
