Stacking Credits and the Future of the Qualification
The NARIC Ireland team is now a partner in the Stacking Credits and the Future of the Qualification (STACQ) project, a new Erasmus-funded project that aspires to support learning mobility based on new forms of learning in the EU and EHEA.
Led by Nuffic (Dutch NARIC) along with the ENIC-NARIC centres for Malta, Lithuania, Sweden, UK NARIC with support from the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), and the European Consortium for Accreditation (ECA), the STACQ project will include the preparation of a paper on the future of the qualification that reflects on the impact of changes in the education landscape, notably the development of modular education such as micro-credentials on recognition.
Currently recognition of such courses is new to both ENIC-NARIC centres and higher education institutions. The STACQ project will further research this topic and aim to provide ENIC-NARIC centres and admissions officers at European HEI with a tool to more efficiently take digital and online learning units into account in their recognition evaluations.
