Roundtable with Irish HEIs in European Universities Alliances
On 26th February QQI convened a roundtable of the eight Irish higher education institution partners in European University Alliances – DCU, TCD, IADT, NUI Galway, TU Dublin, UCC, AIT and LIT – along with other stakeholders to explore experiences, approaches and challenges in the Alliances, with specific consideration of quality assurance, governance, and recognition.
The roundtable was opened by Dr Pádraig Walsh CEO of QQI and chaired by Dr Bryan Maguire, Director of Quality Assurance, QQI. The session provided an opportunity for updates from the European Commission and ENQA, and from TCD and DCU experiences as Alliance partners. A recording of the presentation is available here.
The response of all participants was very positive, the opportunity offered by the roundtable for exploring practices and sharing experiences being especially appreciated. QQI is pleased to confirm that it intends to reconvene the roundtable group as a forum for Irish higher education institute partners in the European Universities Alliances to share practice and engage in sustained and productive discussions around this work.
