Open Competition for Appointment to Assistant Principal Officer (3 Year Fixed Term Contract)

Job Description

• Managing validation process for new apprenticeships under the apprenticeship council
• Managing validation for SOLAS craft apprenticeships
• Managing validation of traineeships
• Managing approval of new providers offering apprenticeships
• Leading the re-engagement of SOLAS as provider
• Producing documentary material to support apprenticeship providers
• Leading projects and Organising events to enhance quality of apprenticeship provision nationally
• Monitoring the implementation of QQI validated apprenticeship programmes
• Monitoring the quality assurance of apprenticeships validated by other awarding bodies
• Advising QQI on policy in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships
• Contributing to the development and review of quality assurance guidelines for work-based learning
• Engaging with external statutory agencies (DES, Apprenticeship Council, SOLAS, HEA) in relation to work-based learning
• Contributing to communications for learners and other stakeholders explaining QQI's role in relation to apprenticeships and traineeships
• Reporting to QQI governance committees and liaising with other QQI executive units in relation to apprenticeships

Requirements

• At least 5 years experience of delivering, managing and/or quality assuring work-based learning programmes in a further education and training, higher education or work-based environment
• Strong oral communications skills
• Demonstrated report writing skills
• Understanding of the main approaches and issues for formal work-based learning
• Ability to deliver projects to a deadline
